Autopsy on Bodies with Infectious DiseasesBodies with known or suspected infectious disease must be double shrouded and double red tagged when being sent for autopsy. See the previous webpage for instructions on proper identification of the body. The attending staff physician must consult with the pathologist prior to autopsy to address specific questions and warrant the performance of an autopsy. The pathologist will limit the extent of the autopsy in these cases. The following is a list of infectious diseases according to Alberta Regulation 14/2001 Public Health Act. Schedule 1
