Specimen Requirements	1 x 7 mL lavender top EDTA tube (Specimen MUST be collected in cold EDTA tube placed on ice, use tubes stored in freezers) 2.0 mL plasma Minimum Blood Volume for Patients less than 45 kg (100 lb) Including Neonates and Pediactrics Collections performed at acute care (RRL) sites, and all PSCs EXCEPT Airdrie, Cochrane, McKnight and Southcentre. Collection should be performed between 0630h and 1000h as reference ranges are established for this time of collection.
Specimen Handling	Spin immediately at 4ºC + 2ºC, using plastic pipette, transfer plasma into plastic tube and freeze tube. Place samples on ice for transport to the lab. RECORD collection time on requisition.
Additional Information	This test cannot be collected by Mobile Collection Services.
