Specimen Requirements

Bone Marrow: 1 x 5 mL lavender top EDTA tube

Blood: 4 x 5 mL lavender top EDTA tubes

NOTE: Bone Marrow is the preferred specimen type. 

 
Specimen Handling Send specimens to DSC Molecular Hematology within 4 hours of collection. 
Additional Information

Call Molecular Hematology at 770-3699 to book testing.  Testing can only be ordered by a Hematologist. 

Specimens must be accompanied by a copy of the original requisition.

 
Testing Location Molecular Hematology 
Testing Frequency Not routinely done - Molecular Hematology notifies Hematologists 2 weeks in advance of testing date.
