| Specimen Requirements |
1 x 3.5 mL gold top SST tube only is acceptable.
Note: for allergens listed on Orderable Allergens, ONLY, a PST tube may be collected.
Minimum 0.2 mL blood or 0.1 mL serum for each allergen.

Information for ordering physicians: the standard number of allowable allergen specific IgE antibody tests is 5 per patient/year. If the ordering physician is an allergy specialist (as approved by the Section of Clinical Immunology and Allergy) the number of allowable allergen specific IgE antibody tests is 10 per patient/year, which can be increased to 20 when approved by a laboratory physician/clinical chemist. |
