24 hour: Urine specimen MUST be kept FROZEN during entire collection and transport process (no preservative). Patient must place 24h urine collection container into freezer immediately after each voiding throughout the 24h collection period.
Random: 10 mL random urine First morning specimen preferred.
Specimen Handling
24 hour: Submit entire 24h collection.
Random: 10 mL collection sufficient for both amino acids and metabolic screen.
PSC: Transport on ice to DSC. RRL: Maintain frozen during transport to ACH. Extra-regional: Maintain frozen during transport to DSC.
