Collections at Beddington & Sloane Square PSCs, or at RRLs only; pediatric collections available at ACH.
Specimens must be collected on ICE. Draw 0.5-1 hr post IV for peak concentration.
Specimen Handling
Within 30 minutes of collection add 1 mL plasma to 2 mL 5% TCA in a plastic tube and mix; indicate on tube that TCA was added, and freeze sample. If 2 mL or more of plasma, send in separate 1 mL aliquots.
NOTE: TCA must be obtained from FMC Accession prior to collection.
