Collection sites: if only “Buffy Coat” is indicated on requisition, contact physician to determine if they require CMV buffy coat, BEFORE collection.
If CMV ordered or transplant patient see Cytomegalovirus Buffy Coat. Note: Community physicians are to contact either Dr. A. Mansoor, Dr. D. Easton or Dr. X. Jiang for inquires in regards to ordering the Hematology Buffy coat. A CBC must be performed with a Hematology Buffy coat.
