C-1 Esterase Inhibitor, Total Protein and Function

1 x 5 mL gold top SST tube
2.0 mL serum

Collections performed at acute care (RRL) sites, and all PSCs EXCEPT Airdrie, Cochrane, McKnight and Southcentre.

PSC:collect on ice and allow to clot on ice, centrifuge at 4ºC + 2ºC, separate into 2 x 1 mL aliquots, and transport on ice to DSC.

RRL and extra-regional: collect on ice, centrifuge at 4ºC + 2ºC, separate into 2 x 1 mL aliquots, and freeze immediately, then transport to DSC.

Total protein and functional protein levels will be determined.
