  • Tests drug classes that may be abused:  Amphetamines, Cannabinoids (THC, marijuana), Cocaine, Opiates, Benzodiazepines, Barbiturates
  • Sometines upgraded to FDSU when physician requests confirmation

  • Test performed in Analytical/Toxicology at DSC on a GCMS (Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry)
  • GCMS prints out a graph with peaks; each peak represents a specific drug
  • Tests for 200+ analytes (see Clinical Toxicology Testing for list)
  • Some substances may interfere with Triage and Integra analysis; GCMS is used to confirm Triage and Integra readings
  • GCMS is also used if a specifiic drug(s) needs to be detected/reported or if a cannabinoid level (actual number or quantitation) is required.

  • Donor is instructed to follow a clearly defined collection process and the urine specimen must be secured and tracked
