FLOTHERCC
If a differential is ordered enter both the cell count mnemonic FLOTHERCC and the differential mnemonic FLOTHERC.
1 x 5 mL lavender top EDTA tube OR 1 x 5 mL green top sodium heparin tube
Place 3 - 5 mL fluid immediately into EDTA or sodium heparin tube following collection. Mix well.
DO NOT send large volumes of fluid.Specimen MUST NOT be clotted.
