| Specimen Requirements |
Urine: Random urine collection, minimum 10 mL is preferred. First morning urine is also acceptable.
Urine is the preferred specimen type, however testing can be performed on:
Blood: 1 x 3 mL lavender top EDTA tube - whole blood
Tissue: Fresh, frozen or formalin-fixed |
| Specimen Handling |
Keep specimen refrigerated.
Submit specimen and completed CLS Anatomic Pathology requisition to the Gross Room, 11th Floor, Foothills Hospital, Attention Molecular Pathology. Specimens may be sent Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Specimens collected outside of regular hours must be kept refrigerated and sent the next working day. |
