Specimen Requirements

1 x 3.5 mL gold top SST tube ONLY
AND 1 x 3 mL light green (mint) top PST tube

0.5 mL serum and 0.5 mL plasma

Specimen Handling PSC & RRL: 
Centrifuge both tubes, pour off SST, and transport specimens to DSC.

Extra-regional: 
Centrifuge both tubes, pour off SST and freeze serum prior to transport to DSC. Do not freeze the PST plasma specimen.

DSC:
Freeze serum specimen upon receipt in lab; ensure frozen specimens do not thaw (test is peformed in Immunochemistry). Do not freeze the PST plasma specimen (test is performed in Chemistry).
Additional Information Includes IgG1, IgG2, IgG3, IgG4.
Ordering IGGSUB also includes a Total IgG test.
