0.5 mL serum and 0.5 mL plasma |
| Specimen Handling |
PSC & RRL:
Centrifuge both tubes, pour off SST, and transport specimens to DSC.
Extra-regional:
Centrifuge both tubes, pour off SST and freeze serum prior to transport to DSC. Do not freeze the PST plasma specimen.
DSC:
Freeze serum specimen upon receipt in lab; ensure frozen specimens do not thaw (test is peformed in Immunochemistry). Do not freeze the PST plasma specimen (test is performed in Chemistry). |
