Specimen Requirements

1 x 2 mL gray top tube (Na fluoride/potassium oxalate)

0.2 mL plasma

Minimum Blood Volume for Patients less than 45 kg (100 lb) Including Neonates and Pediatrics

DO NOT use tourniquet for collection.

Collections restricted to ACH, FMC, PLC, RGH and 8th and 8th PSC only.

 
Specimen Handling

Specimen must be centrifuged within 15 minutes of collection.

PSC: Centrifuge specimen and send plasma aliquot directly to FMC by contacting the courier desk. Samples MUST NOT be held at DSC overnight.

 
Additional Information This test cannot be collected by Mobile Collection Services.
