Specimen Handling
RRL: Mix specimen well, prepare 6 thin smears from green top tube. Mark slides “LAP”.
When slides are dry, place in closed folder to protect from light. Forward both blood and slides.
PSC: Send blood specimen STAT directly to FMC Special Hematology, call 944 -1975.
Additional Information
Due to specimen handling requirements, test should not be collected by Mobile Collection Services.
