Specimen Handling
RRL Hematology: Mix specimen well, prepare 6 thin smears from green top tube. Mark slides “LAP”.
When slides are dry, place in closed folder to protect from light. Forward both blood and slides to FMC Special Hematology.
PSC: Send blood specimen STAT directly to FMC Special Hematology, call 403-944-1975.
Additional Information
Due to specimen handling requirements, test should not be collected by Mobile Collection Services.
