Acceptable specimen: biopsy tissue, contact lens, contact lens solution, corneal scrapings/ulcer, orbital fluid, vitreous/aqueous eye fluid.
Submit specimen in 10 mL of Pages Amoeba saline, in a sterile container.
Store specimens at room temperature.DO NOT refrigerate. Specimen should be received in laboratory within 2 hours of collection.Transport STAT.
Anyone handling these specimens should wear gloves and wash their hands immediately after removing gloves.
