Platelet Storage Pool Deficiency

Specimen Requirements	1 x 10 mL yellow top ACD-A tube (Acceptable: 1 x 5 mL blue top sodium citrate tube) Venipuncture should be performed with minimal amount of trauma. If possible, avoid using a tourniquet.
Specimen Handling	Samples must be submitted to Flow Cytometry ASAP. If samples are not collected at FMC, the sample must be sent by stat courier. Sample must be kept at room temperature.
Additional Information	Testing must be done within 8 hours of collection.
