Mnemonic FLPH 
Specimen Requirements 0.5 mL CSF in pre-packed sterile tube or 5 mL red top tube. 
Specimen Handling

Keep tightly stoppered. DO NOT refrigerate. Testing should be performed immediately due to specimen integrity.
FMC: specimens are run on the blood gas instrument by Chemistry.
ACH, PLC, RGH: deliver specimens to Respiratory Therapy.
