Specimen Requirements

1 x 5 mL lavender top EDTA tube. Whole blood.

Minimum Blood Volume for Patients less than 45 kg (100 lb) Including Neonates and Pediatrics

Collect just prior to next dose.

STAT priority requests have restricted clinical indications and require review and approval by CLS Medical & Scientific Staff. Contact LIC at 770-3600 for Pathologist On Call information.

 
Specimen Handling

RECORD time of last dose on requisition

Must be received at DSC by 1230h Monday to Friday and 1100h Saturday, Sunday and holidays for same day analysis. If not received before designated time, sample will be processed the next day.

 
Additional Information

If Tacrolimus, Cyclosporin, and Sirolimus are ordered in any combination, they may be collected in one tube.
