Collect Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday before 12:00 noon only (to ensure specimen reaches testing lab within 72 hours of collection).
Specimen Handling
Transport whole blood on ice to DSC Referrals (must be received by Referrals no later than 14:00 for same day shipping). DO NOT freeze; wrap the specimen to avoid direct contact with ice pack. Store samples received after hours in refrigerator.
Notify Referrals at 403-770-3285 when sending a specimen.
Additional Information
Send specimen in a separate bag with a photocopy of the requisition.
