Specimen Handling and Transport

Wrap the fresh specimen in a telfa pad moistened with sterile normal saline and place it in a screw-capped container and labeled according to CLS requirements.

Forward to the histology lab IMMEDIATELY.

Specimens Requiring Lymphoma Protocol

Calgary Hospital sites: After normal hours, contact the pathologist on-call prior to doing a biopsy.
