Specimen Requirements 1 x 4 mL dark green top heparin tube, NOT PST 

Minimum 3 mL whole blood

It is recommended that patient go to ACH for specimen collection.
 

Specimen Handling Do NOT centrifuge; send whole blood

Do NOT refrigerate or freeze; send at room temperature.

If not collected at ACH, transport whole blood to ACH at room temperature.

Sample MUST arrive before 14:00 and have been collected NO LONGER than 24 hours prior to arrival.
 
Additional Information Send a copy of the requisition with the specimen.

THIS IS NOT A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. This procedure involves the establishment of an Il-2 stimulated T-lymphocyte culture for the purposes of esoteric enzyme testing.  Following T-lymphocyte clonal expansion, the cells are frozen down as pellets.  This procedure cannot be used for continual culturing or for banking and the re-establishment cell cultures.
