Specimen Requirements

This is a user pay test not covered by Alberta Health & Wellness. The patient or his/her insurance company must pay $16.00 at the time of specimen collection.

1 x 3.5 mL gold top SST tube

1-2 red top microtainers is minimum requirement if young child or difficult draw.

DO NOT OPEN TUBE OR COMBINE WITH ANY OTHER TEST REQUEST.

Additional Information HIV testing performed by CLS Immunochemistry is for company medicals, immigration, insurance medicals and travel or work visas for countries other than Saudi Arabia (for HIV testing for a visa for Saudi Arabia, see HIV Serology, Provincial Laboratory).
