Specimen Requirements Whole blood: 1 x 4 mL lavender top EDTA tube

Do not collect in same tube with any other test. Specimens poured off from other EDTA tubes (e.g. CBC) are NOT ACCEPTABLE.


Bone marrow: 1 x 4 mL lavender top EDTA tube with minimum of 0.5 mL of bone marrow in each tube
Specimen Handling Send all specimens at room temperature directly to DSC Molecular Hematology.

DSC Accession: after 16:30, store at 4ºC.
Additional Information Specimens must be accompanied by a copy of the original requisition.

Molecular investigations must be DEDICATED specimens to avoid sample contamination.
Testing Location Molecular Hematology
Testing Frequency Every 3 to 4 weeks.
