Specimen Requirements Two aliquots of urine from second morning sample collection collected between 07:30 and 10:00.  Random and 24 hour urine also acceptable.
1 x 10 mL Immunochemistry for n-Telopeptide
1 x 8 mL DSC Chemistry for urine creatinine

Refrigerate during collection, no preservative.
Specimen Handling PSC & RRL:
Transport to DSC at room temperature.

Extra-regional:
Freeze specimens with "DSC IC NTX" on the label prior to transport to DSC.

DSC:
Freeze specimens with "DSC IC NTX" on the label upon receipt in lab (do not freeze specimens with "DSC CHEM INTEGR" on the label); ensure frozen specimens do not thaw.
Additional Information N-telopeptide is a bone resorption marker for osteoporosis.

Testing includes urine creatinine - performed at DSC Chemistry.
