Specimen Requirements Collect in container with 20 mL 6N Hydrochloric acid (HCl). Specimen may be acidified during or following collection.

PSC:
Direct patient to obtain container with 20 mL of 6N HCl from RRL Outpatient labs. HCL is not available at PSCs.
Specimen may be dropped off at PSC after collection is complete.

Submit 10 mL aliquot of 24 hour urine collection. If not acidified prior to collection, send urine to DSC with a note "Needs Acidification".
 
Specimen Handling Extra-regional:
Transport on ice to DSC.

DSC:
Refrigerate specimens upon receipt in lab.
