Specimen Requirements

Adults: 1 x 4 mL red top tubes (NOT SST) AND 2 x 4 mL lavender top EDTA tubes

Neonates: 3 mL collection in a red top tube (NOT SST) AND 1 x 3 mL lavender top EDTA tube
 
  

Specimen Handling Send whole blood EDTA tubes and clotted, unspun red top tubes to DSC, along with a copy of the requisition. Store tubes at room temperature.
