Specimen Requirements

2 x 8.5 mL yellow top ACD-A tube

2 x 4 mL red top tube, NOT SST

Specimen Handling

PSC and RRL:
Centrifuge red top samples, pour off serum into two aliquot tubes and transport on ice to DSC.
Transport ACD-A tubes at room temperature.

Extra-regional:
ACD-A tubes: Ship unspun at room temperature.
Red top tubes: Centrifuge, pour off serum into two aliquot tubes. Freeze and transport frozen to DSC.

DSC Accession:
Deliver serum aliquots and ACD-A tubes directly to HIL. After 15:00, store serum aliquots in HIL -20ºC freezer. Place ACD-A tubes on bench at room temperature.

Specimens MUST be accompanied by a copy of the original requisition. Send original requisition for optical scanning.
