| Specimen Handling | PSC and RRL: Centrifuge, pour off plasma and place on ice within one hour of collection. Protect tube from light by using amber aliquot tube and lid, or wrap tubes in foil. Transport plasma on ice to DSC. Extra-regional: Centrifuge, pour off plasma and freeze within one hour of collection. Protect tube from light by using amber aliquot tube and lid, or wrap tubes in foil. Transport frozen to DSC. DSC: Freeze specimens upon receipt in lab; ensure frozen specimens do not thaw. | |
