Anatomic Pathology Tests

Routine Surgical Level IV (all specimens) Result within 4 working days from receipt in lab to verified report.
Stat Surgical Pathology: Processing to be determined in conjunction with clinician; may require immediate tissue processing or 24 hour processing followed by telephone results to the clinician.
Autopsy Pathology: In unusual medical, legal, or religious situations, an autopsy may need to be performed outside standard hours. Discussion between the clinician and autopsy pathologist is necessary to determine how soon the autopsy should be done.

Non-Gyne only: Result within 2 working days of receipt of the specimen for processing when the physician contact number is provided.


Microbiology Tests

Tests of a less critical nature: Optimal diagnosis and treatment decisions cannot be made until the results are available. Result TAT varies with test performed.

Tests of a critical nature: Stat gram stain results are available within 1 hour from receipt in DSC Microbiology. Refer to Stat Testing.
