Specimen Requirements

Collect specimen using a non-wooden shaft swab; use a swab with a plastic or aluminum shaft. The swab MUST immediately be inoculated into the mycoplasma transport media.

Submit swab in Mycoplasma Transport Media.
Specimen Handling

Store specimen at room temperature for up to 24 hours and  at 4ºC for up to 48 hours.

The specimen can be frozen at -20ºC in the transport media for 6 months.
Additional Information Turnaround time: 3 days.
