Submit tissue in anaerobic transport media (PRAS).

Specimen Handling Store specimen at room temperature.
DO NOT refrigerate.
Additional Information

Anaerobic culture and fungal culture are routinely preformed on heart valve tissue.

Bartonella requests require consultation with the Microbiologist on Call at 770-3757.

Turnaround time for negative culture: 7 - 14 days.
