Availability

Usually collected by CBS. Provided as red cells. May be provided as whole blood if collected by hospital program.

Ordering

Arrangements for donation must be made through Perioperative Blood Conservation Program Coordinator more than one month prior to OR date.

Notes

Autologous units MUST be transfused prior to issue of allogeneic units.
