Fine Needle Aspiration Clinic

Calgary Laboratory Services (CLS) provides a Fine Needle Aspiration Clinic service at the Specialty Clinic 2 of the Peter Lougheed Centre (PLC), Out-Patient Clinics Department.  The FNA Clinic is located in the PLC close to the west entrance at 3500-26 Avenue N.E. Calgary, Alberta.

The FNA Clinic accepts referrals from physicians to perform diagnostic FNA procedures on their patients with palpable/superficial lesions ("lumps & bumps").  Examples of these lesions include cysts and nodules in the head and neck area, salivary gland, breast, lymph nodes, and other superficial lesions.

The FNA Clinic is operated by CLS Cytopathologists every Friday (except statutory holidays) between 8:30 am and 2:30 pm. The ability to perform on-site assessment of the specimen ensures a satisfactory specimen is obtained during the patient visit. A final Cytopathology laboratory report will be issued once the specimen is received and processed in the CLS laboratory.

Note to Physicians:
Patients book their own appointments. Please provide the instruction sheet to the patient and ensure the patient follows these instructions to book their appointment. The patient will be requierd to provide referring physician's contact information when they book their appointment.
